Today we'll visit another stalactite cave, Postojna Cave, located near Postojna, Slovenia. At 21,120 meters long, Postojna Cave is the second largest cave complex in Slovenia and a major tourist attraction. We'll first take a 10-minute underground train down to the caves, where we'll enjoy a 3.7-kilometer journey on the world's only double-track cave railway. We'll then spend another hour exploring the caves.

The olm is a symbol of Slovenia's natural heritage. Three hundred years after its discovery, the enthusiasm of scientists and the general public for this species remains undiminished. The Postojna Cave in Slovenia is one of the earliest birthplaces of speleology, as it is home to rare creatures such as the olm. The olm has brought considerable fame to the Postojna Cave, as the Slovenian government has taken advantage of the booming ecotourism to promote tourism in Postojna and other karst areas. The olm's vestigial eyes, hidden under the skin, make it invisible, but its other senses, especially smell and hearing, have become more acute to compensate for the lack of vision. In addition, the olm's skin lacks pigment and is completely white, with the exception of its three external gills, which are present throughout its life and are bright red.

Predjama Castle, an impenetrable medieval wonder, stands atop a 123-meter-high cliff face and boasts a history spanning over 800 years. Hidden within this cave castle, the world's largest, lies a network of secret passages from which the Predjama knight Erazem launched his plundering expeditions. The caves beneath Predjama Castle are home to bats. This world's largest cave castle has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the world's ten most fascinating castles.
